9Library Student: Find a Library, Book a Seat, Mark Attendance

9Library Student is a free app for students of study libraries. Use it in your browser at student.9lib.in or as an Android app. It works with libraries that use 9Library Admin. Students do not pay 9Library anything. Library fees are paid directly to your library, in cash or by UPI. The app never takes or holds your money. If your library turns on Pay Now, the app only opens your own UPI app with the library's payment details.

Find and book

• Search study libraries, including nearby libraries if you allow location.
• See library details, facilities, prices and seat availability.
• Send a seat request. The library owner accepts or rejects it, and you then read and accept the library rules to enter your dashboard.

Dashboard and attendance

• Check in and out by scanning the library QR code. Location and nearby Wi-Fi are checked to confirm you are inside the library.
• See present days, absent days, study time today and this month, and whether you are currently inside.
• Edit your profile.
• See your fee validity: start date, valid-upto date, days left and any pending fee.
• When your seat is about to expire, you can send a request to your library to free your seat.
• If your fee is overdue and your library grace period has ended, the QR scanner is locked until the dues are cleared with your library.

Smart features (Android)

• Connect to library Wi-Fi by tapping its name, without typing the password. Android may ask you to confirm.
• Optional automatic Silent mode while you are checked in, restored when you check out. This needs your Do Not Disturb permission, and we do not read your notifications.

Communication

• Push notifications for seat, fee and chat alerts, including fee reminders you can open to see the details.
• Read announcements from your library in a read-only announcement channel.
• Chat with your library without sharing your personal phone number. You can report abusive messages.

Privacy and control

• Camera is used only to scan QR codes. Location is used only while the app is open, never in the background.
• Delete your account from inside the app or by email. See Privacy Policy and Delete Account.
• Library records such as attendance, seat and fees are controlled by your library owner.

FAQ

Is it free? Yes, free for students.

Do I pay fees in the app? Not to 9Library. You pay your library directly, in cash or from your own UPI app. If your library turns on Pay Now, the app opens your UPI app with the library's details, and you type the UTR so the library can confirm. We never receive your money.

Who can use it? Students aged 13 and above; under 18 needs parent or guardian consent.

Does Wi-Fi auto-connect work on the web? No, only in the Android app.
