1. Who We Are and Our Role

9Library Student (the "Application") is provided by 9Library Management Systems, Tehsil Chadoora, District Budgam, Jammu and Kashmir, India (the "Developer", "we", "us"). The Application works together with our separate Admin software used by library owners. For library records (student details, seats, fees, attendance, documents), the library owner decides what is collected and why, and is the Data Fiduciary (Data Controller). We process that data for the library owner. For data needed to run the Application itself (login, device, notifications, crash reports, chat safety), we are responsible as described here. We do not sell your personal data.

2. Data We Collect

We do not add, import or edit library records ourselves. Library owners enter them in their Admin software, and students give their details to the library when they join. We may load a few stock background images from Unsplash, which receives your IP address when the image is fetched.

3. How We Use Data

To create and secure your account, show your library and seat information, send booking requests to library owners, record attendance, show alerts and receipts, run chat and keep it safe, show payment request status, fix errors and improve the Application, and follow the law. We do not use your data for any other purpose without your consent.

4. Device Permissions

5. Fees and Payments

The Application does not collect, hold or process any money, and we are not a payment gateway. Fees are paid directly to the library owner, in cash or by UPI. If the library owner turns on Pay Now, the Application shows the owner's UPI ID, name and amount and opens your own UPI app. The money goes from your UPI app straight to the library owner. We store only the payment request details listed in section 2.

6. Who We Share Data With

We do not sell your personal data. Data may be stored on servers outside your home district or outside India, with the providers above.

7. Advertisements

At present the Application shows no advertisements. We may add advertisements or sponsored content in the future. If we do, we will update this policy and give you notice before it starts. We will not show targeted or behaviour-based advertising to users under 18.

8. Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections and protected by login checks and access rules, so one library cannot read another library's data. No system is perfectly secure. Please protect your phone and do not share your login codes.

9. Retention and Account Deletion

We keep your data while your account is active and as long as needed for the purposes above or as the law requires. You can delete your account any time from the Delete Account option in the Application, or as described at https://student.9lib.in/delete-account, or by emailing [email protected] from your registered email with the subject "Account Deletion Request". Your account, login and profile data we hold are deleted within 30 days. Please do not sign in again during these 30 days. If you are still a student of a library, that library may keep your records while you are enrolled, as explained below. Records kept by your library owner in their own Admin software (such as attendance, seat and fee records) are controlled by that library owner. Ask the owner to remove them, or tell us and we will forward your request. Some data may be kept longer where the law requires, or in anonymised form.

10. Your Rights

Under Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, have it erased, withdraw consent, and make a complaint. You can edit your profile in the Application. For other requests, write to the Grievance Officer below. We will reply within 15 days.

11. Children

The Application is for users aged 13 and above. Users under 18 must use it with the consent of a parent or guardian. Parent or guardian details are stored only when given by the student or the library owner. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given data, email [email protected] and we will delete it. We do not track or profile children for advertising.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. For any important change, we will give you at least 15 days notice before it starts, through a notice in the Application or on this website, and will update the "Last Updated" date. If you continue to use the Application after the change starts, you accept it.

13. Platform Administrator Access

Student accounts and chats are not viewed on a routine basis. Stored data may be accessed by the platform administrator only when needed for support, for fixing errors, for safety, or as the law requires. Your data is not sold to anyone. It is seen only by your library owner, by the platform administrator when needed, and by our service providers who help us run the service.

14. Grievance Officer and Contact
